THE CHALLENGE

Working in the innovation consulting world for many years, Innovatika dreamed about having the business that would be more focused and would generate recurrent revenues.

Innovatika had quite an experience in organising Roundtables for innovation enthusiasts and had a vivid interest in bold business ideas launched by startups – we explored them for every project as they were the most exciting inspirations for our corporate Clients. We wanted to make a better use of our competencies and capabilities.

We had launched our spin off and new products before and they gave us a lot of valuable and costly learning about what not to do. This time we wanted to smell the success.

CONNECTING THE DOTS

We started by combining information on our Clients’ needs and their desire to get inspirations from the startup world, and our capabilities of searching and running accelerators for startups. The first idea that we developed and pitched to our Clients was the Corporate Club under the brand D-RAFT.

TOTALLY NEW ENVIRONMENT

We knew we want to create the business that would be different that our existing one – Innovatika. We decided to have the team of two at the beginning to work exclusively on the new business and we “set them free” and locate them in the new office space that would allow the old habits to be irrelevant.

PIVOTS, PIVOTS, PIVOTS

We started to validate the concept with the Clients from the Day 1. We were pitching and making experiments by organising meetings that would be part of the final offering. With every activity we were collecting feedback and fine-tunning the Value Proposition as well as the offering.

We changed a lot from the initial concept. We went from the idea of the physical accelerator for startups to the idea of the Corporate Club to the vertical programs and back to the physical space hub.

THE OUTCOME

The Heart is already an established brand that is well anchored in the startup community in Poland and Europe. It is the international hub where leading multinationals connect with ready-to-scale startups for joint business development.

The Heart was selected as the place to be visited by Prince William and Princes Kate who celebrated oppening of the Warsaw-London Bridge, the common initiative of the British Embassy in Poland and the Heart.
